Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American performer and actress. She started by releasing humorous, cleverly written lyrics in rap that dealt with questions of racial identity as well as sexual orientation. Then she expanded her audience to Hollywood. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents from Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came through trumpet. In the following years, she took up traditional and hip-hop training. While in school, she concentrated on women's studies and journalism. She studied Mandarin briefly in Beijing. The focus on music until the time she completed her degree. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included in her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The other viral hit songs included queef, a body positive song and the winking NYC Bitchecity tour. The track that was published specifically linked to The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her travel guide for 2015. Her resume included both musicians and an author. Now she was looking for a new career path in acting. In addition to early shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2. Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018 she landed breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
